Treating non-life-threatening cuts and wounds
Treating cuts doesn’t always require the assistance of a medical professional. Some small wounds can be effectively treated at home (if the bleeding is minimal) by carefully cleaning and bandaging the wound and monitoring it for signs of infection, such as redness, pain, or drainage.
However, if you have any concerns about your cut or you don’t have the proper bandaging materials at home, do not hesitate to visit us. StarMed Family & Urgent Care’s professionals can quickly clean and bandage your cut to prevent infection, as well as provide stitches or sutures if necessary. It is particularly important to visit us if your cut does not appear to be healing, if it contains dirt or debris, if the surrounding area feels numb, or of the wound is from an animal.
Contact StarMed Family & Urgent Care the next time you need treatment for a cut or any other non-emergency injury. In the event that you or someone around you has sustained a wound with uncontrollable bleeding, please call 911 immediately.
