What Does a Sports Physical Involve?
Sports physicals help ensure young athletes are healthy enough to safely participate in the activities they enjoy. The details of this physical may vary depending on factors unique to the patient, such as age and overall health. In general, though, a sports physical will involve a review of personal and family medical history, as well as a physical exam to check:
- Weight and height
- Blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Vision and hearing
- Joint health, muscle strength, and reflexes
- Lung function
